Thank you for visiting our school website! Here at Almira, we foster an educational environment where our students come first. We know that it takes the engagement of the entire community to ensure the success of our schools.

We would like to share with you some of the various aspects of our school district and what we accomplished this past year by providing you with this annual report.

Almira Pre-K- 8 along with ACH High School were recipients of the 2009 Washington Achievement Award. Only 174 schools across the state have been awarded this prestigious honor. The Washington Achievement Award was created by the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education to celebrate our top-performing schools and to recognize achievement in multiple categories. This highly selective award is based on school’s performance according to the newly created School Accountability Index, a comprehensive measurement of how schools in Washington are performing over time.
The Washington Achievement Award is given to elementary, middle, high and comprehensive schools in six different categories: overall excellence, language arts, math, science, extended graduation rate (high and comprehensive schools only) and gifted education.

We are proud of all the students, teachers, administration and communities who value education and go above and beyond the call of duty every day.  Both schools were presented with their awards May 5th @ 9AM @ Hazen High School in Renton, WA.  The award ceremony was broadcasted state wide.

Announcements:

Regular board meetings will be on the 4th Monday of the month instead of the 3rd Thursday of the month, effective January 2010.
