Text Box: Text Box: ENRICHMENT CLASSES
Although we do not have a music teacher in our school on a regular basis, we are fortunate to have a music teacher in our community who has agreed to offer a series of music classes through our after-school enrichment program.
Denise Jordan graduated from college in November and is now a certified music teacher.
Ms. Jordan will be teaching two enrichment programs starting
Text Box: corresponds to a musical that students will perform for friends and family also about the middle of May.
More information will be sent home with students as we approach the time for classes to start. There will be no cost for students, and all who are interested are encouraged to participate.

Text Box: READING WORKSHOP
Reading workshop volunteers are needed. Tutors are needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays in half hour sessions from 12:30-1:30 PM. Any session or day commitment would be appreciated. If you like children’s books or enjoy being a special friend to a student, please call 632-5231 to volunteer to make a difference. If you have questions or want to see what is involved with the program, please give us a call.
FROM THE 4th GRADE
The 4th grade class voted to forego the traditional gift exchange and bought small gifts to send to needy children through the “Operation Christmas Child” program. Instead of bringing a gift for a classmate, each student brought a small, unwrapped gift. These were placed in an appropriate “girl” or “boy” shoebox until the boxes were full. Then, they were sent to Operation Christmas Child for distribution to boys and girls around the world
Text Box: LITERACY CELEBRATION
Thursday, January 27, 2004
Thursday, January 27, Corinne Isaak, our local author of two published books, and others interested in children’s literature will be here to lead an assembly and kick off our Family Literacy Day/Night. The first event will be a 45-minute K-8 assembly in the gym. Next, similar grade level classes will be combined to participate in small workshops. There will also be a concluding assembly during the last 15 minutes of the day.
That evening, children and their families will be invited to school to attend an evening of reading, storytelling, and other literacy activities.
Make plans to join us for our Family Literacy Program.
