2004 Game Summaries

Game 1 - Sept. 20th @ Davenport

When we finally got to Davenport and turned onto the road going toward the school there was a guy on the sidewalk that saw our bus. He started running up the sidewalk waving at us, and there was a cement wall in front of him that he didn’t see. He ran right into it and we all saw it happen. We started laughing our heads off while he was bending over in pain.

When we finally stopped laughing, we arrived at the school and got ready for the games. The JV game started at 4:00pm and we were losing, at first. Then Shelby Knopp started serving and got the ball over the net several times, each time we got a point. We barely won with a score of 25 –23. Finally all the JV games were over and the Warriors lost two out of three games. In the final game we only lost by a score of 23-25.

Soon, the varsity teams were ready to play and Davenport got the ball first. When the game was eventually over we lost, 16-25. The second game we also lost, 17-25. We played the third game for practice and even though it was like a practice, they still kept score. We lost that game too, 5-15.

A few days after the game, I interviewed Kasey G., a volleyball player on the varsity team. She moved here from Entiat before school started and was on the Varsity team at her old school. She said,” We tried our best and it was probably one of the hardest teams we’ve ever played, so I think we did pretty good.” She also think that we’ll do better at our next game.

2003 Summary

This season was a fun and fabulous time for the coaches and players. We didn't win every game, but we tried our best and had a good time doing so. We had 15 players out this year, and considering the small amount of young ladies we have in our middle schools, that was a wonderful success. Thanks to all the parents and community members that supported MS Warrior Volleyball this year! We will see you next fall!
