Remember—you can turn your trash into cash for our school!!!!!

   Empty inkjet printer cartridges can be turned into cash.  Have your student bring them in—we will recycle them and your student will get his/her name in a drawing!!

    Box Tops for Education—be sure and clip those box tops.  Your students teacher has a special place for them in your room!!

    Cell phone—we take them too!!! We will take them off your hands and receive cash for our school.

   We have had many successful activities during these two trimesters we have been in school.  More information about many of them will appear in the next issue of the district newsletter, which is to be published on Wednesday, March 30 and mailed to all residents the next day.

Text Box: Isaak, Jeffrey Bolyard, and Christine Felton.  Placers in their groups were Allison Fox with 2nd and Jeffrey Bolyard with 6th.  
   The speech competition was attended by; Madeline Isaak, Carlene Davis, Reid Ashley, Matt Gregson and Ryan Gregson.  In the humorous speeches Madeline received 4th place, Reid and Matt both earned 5th.  
   Overall the competition was a huge success and we are very proud of our Academic Teams!
   The next competitions the Academic Team will travel to are the 5th Grade “Math Is Cool” competition on March 18, and on March 19 participants will travel to the Science Olympiad.
   We appreciate these students staying after school for the Academic Team Enrichment classes.  A big THANK YOU to parents for making that extra trip to pick your student up!!
Text Box:    Bi-County Academic Contest
   On Thursday, March 10th the Coulee City School Academic Team traveled to Harrington to participate in the Speech, Spelling and Math Competition.  This is an event that is attended by schools from across the Bi-County such as Liberty, Reardan, Wilbur, Lind, and Davenport to name a few.  
   In the Math competition students take a timed math test that is made up of problems that have been submitted by teachers from the participating schools. The Coulee City math participants included Derek Isaak, Conor Jorgensen, Shelby Knopp, and Alex Winterroth.  All of the math students placed in their competitions. Alex and Shelby both placed 4th and Conor and Derek each placed 5th.  
   The Spelling Bee competition was attended by Tyler Weimerskirch, Renwil Bacat, Allison Fox, Drew

 

 

 

READING WORKSHOP

     Reading Workshop volunteers are needed.  Tutors are needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays in half hour sessions from 12:30-1:30 PM.  Any session or day commitment would be appreciated.  If you like children’s books or enjoy being a special friend to a student, please call 632-5231 to volunteer to make a difference.  If you have questions or want to see what is involved with the program, please give us a call.
