December's Newsletter

Last month's conferences at both the elementary and middle school were successful, with nearly all parents attending! Our teachers and
students work hard during the year and are very pleased that parents
take time out of busy schedules to come to school and participate in
conferences. We appreciate how much you care about your children's
education!!

Our Veteran's Day assembly was a wonderful opportunity for our
students to recognize all who have served our country and the event
was made special by the several veterans who attended. Thanks also to the parents and community members who joined us in remembering our veterans.

The Middle School ASB is planning special activities for the morning
of December 22. Details will be sent home in a note with students.
So far, a gift exchange is planned. Girls choosing to participate need
to bring a gift for a girl marked clearly "GIRL" and boys should bring
a gift suitable for a boy marked "BOY." PLEASE observe the $5.00 limit so all gifts are of similar value!!

Eighth grade students are busy preparing their projects for final
presentation December 15th and 16th.

Progress reports will be mailed home on December 10th as we are
quickly approaching the mid-term of second quarter. In the meantime,
your child continues to receive weekly grade sheets on Fridays.
Please ask your child to show these to you each week. These are a

PRINCIPAL NOTES:

The holiday season is a time for reflecting upon all that we have for
which we are truly thankful. This time of year with all its joy and
sharing is a perfect opportunity to remind children to appreciate what
they are given. At school we will be discussing the need for kindness
and good manners as a way of treating each other with respect.

We hope you'll join us as we model and remind our students to use good manners, particularly in remembering to thank people for the gifts they give as well as their kind deeds. May you have a relaxing ,
enjoyable holiday season.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Please make certain your child has warm clothes for recess. Also,
check local television and radio stations for school closures. No
report means we are operating on schedule. You may also contact our transportation hotline for information (681-0090).
