  • Vancouver is  located in South West Washington. Longitude and Latitude is 45 degrees North and 100 degrees West. 
    The population in 1999 was 135,100. 

 
  • Historical Facts:
    Some homes in Vancouver were built by Lowell Hidden in 1885.  Vancouver is the oldest non-Native American community in the NorthWest United States.  Corn and wheat are gound at Washington State's only completely restored 19th century grain-grinding mill in Vancouver.

  • Economical Facts:
    Vancouver has small businesses, traditional industries, and high tech manufacturing.

  • Recreational Facts:
    Vancouver has many places for family hikes.  People can see the oldest apple tree, and also go square dancing.

  • Interesting facts:
    In 1806 Lewis and Clark camped near the Vancouver waterfront on the return trip of their expedition.  Washington State University has an extension in Vancouver.   There is also Clark College, as well as the Washington State School for the Deaf, and the
    Washington State School for the Blind.
