Childfind Notification: Many programs for the children in our schools are provided at no cost to you. Our schools offer special programs such as speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy, Title/LAP and special education academic programs and preschool classes to children three years and older. Developmental screening and/or comprehensive assessments for children who are suspected of having a disability which could adversely affect their educational development are available at no cost to you. These services are available for persons between the ages of birth through 21 years age. Home-based instruction: A parent who intends to cause his/her child or children to receive home-based instruction in lieu of attendance or enrollment in a public school, approved private school or an extension program of an approved school, must file an annual declaration of intent. Forms are available in the office.

Pesticide Notification: The Superintendent is directed to develop a procedure(s) to assure that the District complies with the requirements of law regarding pesticide notification, posting and record keeping. This includes procedures for the annual notification of staff and parents of the Districts pest control policies and methods; pre-notification of staff and parents of pesticide applications; posting of sites of pesticide applications; and record keeping, including an annual summary report of pesticide usage. Summaries can be found in the district offices.
Special Education: Any application
and any required policies, procedures, evaluations, plans, and reports will be
made readily available to parents and other members of the general public
through the districts special education and superintendent offices. A notice
regarding the availability of such documents is placed in the districts and/or
schools newsletters, web sites and other district publications.

Notice for Directory Information: Two federal laws require local educational agencies (LEAs) receiving assistance under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) to provide military recruiters, upon request, with three directory information categories names, addresses and telephone listings unless parents have advised the LEA that they do not want their students information disclosed without their prior written consent.
No Child Left Behind Ensures Your Right to Know: No Child Left Behind (NCLB) places an emphasis on parents right to know about the professional qualifications of their childs classroom teachers. Parents have the right to request the following information about the instructional staff working with their child:
1. Has the teacher met state certification for the grades and subjects that he or she is teaching?
2. Is the teacher working with an emergency or conditional certificate?
3. What was the baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held?
4. What are the qualifications of the paraeducators working with the child?
In addition, all Title 1 schools
must notify parents individually when their child has been assigned to or has
been taught by a teacher who does not meet NCLB highly qualified requirements.
