What is Agricultural Education and FFA?

More than 20 percent of America's work force is employed in some phase of the food, fiber and natural resources industry. For every farmer, there are seven people working in agribusiness. Soil scientists, computer specialists, journalists, florists, horticulturists, sales persons, commodity brokers, research scientists, grain elevator operators, foresters, feed and seed suppliers, agricultural finance and loan officers, veterinarians and many more are involved in getting your food from the farm gate to the plate. In fact, there are more than 200 careers in agriculture. The FFA is a youth organization which was developed specifically to expand the opportunities in leadership and agriculture skill development for students in public secondary schools. Only students enrolled in agriculture classes are eligible for membership in the FFA.

The FFA Mission

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Core Goals
